ILGISA has established the ILGISA Scholarship Fund to help students. This scholarship is funded through donations from private individuals, organizations, and other funding activities of ILGISA.
ILGISA 2026 Scholarship – Now Accepting Nominations!
The Illinois GIS Association (ILGISA) is excited to announce that submissions for the 2026 Student Scholarship are now open! This scholarship recognizes students — undergraduate or postgraduate — who are integrating GIS into their studies or research, regardless of academic discipline.
Eligibility:
Open to students currently enrolled in a 2-year, 4-year, or graduate program in the U.S.
Applicants must be (or become) ILGISA members prior to the submission deadline.
Students from any field of study are welcome to apply, as long as they demonstrate how GIS supports their academic or professional work.
Application Requirements:
Completed scholarship application form
One letter of recommendation
Digital portfolio or work samples showcasing GIS-related projects or research
Award: Recipients will receive a scholarship check, complimentary registration to the ILGISA Annual Conference, and recognition on the ILGISA website. Two scholarship awards are available each year: $750 for one undergraduate student and $750 for one postgraduate student.
