Poster & Web App Galleries

The Illinois GIS Association (ILGISA) is calling upon GIS professionals & students throughout the state to take advantage of this year’s Poster/Map & Web App galleries offered at the Annual Conference! The purpose of the galleries are to highlight the work of GIS professionals & students across the State of Illinois. This year, there will be two different types of galleries where GIS professionals and students can submit to. They are as follows:

 

Student & Professional Web App Gallery

Have you created a mapping application that you'd like to share with your GIS peers? This is your opportunity! All submissions will be reviewed by the ILGISA Board and Membership Committee, and they will select one mapping app per professional and student during the ILGISA Annual Business meeting on Tuesday of the Annual Conference. The winners will receive a $50 gift card.

Judging criteria –
 - Judging will differ based on professional vs student
 - Based on accuracy, organization, quality of map/app

All submissions will be displayed in a virtual gallery at the Annual Conference taking place on October 20 - 22, 2024.

To submit a mapping application, please email a weblink or QR code, and a brief description to [email protected] by September 30, 2024.

 

Student & Professional Poster/Map Gallery

This year, there will be 3 categories in the gallery: undergraduate students, graduate students, and professionals. In order to qualify as a student, you must be enrolled as a full time undergraduate or graduate student at a 2 or 4 year college or university.

Have you recently created a poster or map that you'd like to share with your GIS peers? This is your opportunity! Posters and Maps will be displayed in the Exhibit Hall at the Annual Conference, and attendees will vote on their favorites. The winning poster/map from each category (undergraduate student, graduate student, and professional) will be announced at the Annual Business meeting on Tuesday of the Annual Conference. The winners will receive a $50 gift card.

Note: Student & Professional submissions must bring their own printed posters/maps to display at the Annual Conference. ILGISA will not be printing any posters or maps. However, ILGISA will provide easels to display the posters/maps at the Annual Conference.
